Afterschool Program Director, Island View School Community Computer Center

We provide a not for profit after school program to service the students in grades K-5 at Island View School.  The children are provided with engaging programming in a safe and supportive environment.

Hours: 12:00-5:30, Monday-Friday

Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience

Qualifications:

·        Preferably an undergraduate degree in relevant field.

·        However, applicants with a certificate in Early Childhood Education and relevant experience may be considered.

·        Experience working in a supervisory role in a school, after school, day camp or community recreational program for youth would be considered and asset.

·        Knowledge Department of Education and Early Childhood Curriculum and engaging afterschool programming.

·        Knowledge of basic computer skills.

·        Knowledge of basic accounting and book keeping skills.

Duties

·        Recruit, hire and train effective program staff capable of appropriate supervision and implementation of provincial early childhood curriculum.

·        Accurately maintain program financial requirements.

·        Serve a liaison who reports IVSC3 Board of Directors.

·        Ensure annual program requirements are completed and up to date.

·        Establish and maintain positive ongoing relationship and communication with staff, IVSC3 families and Board of Directors.

·        Create and monitor health and safety needs and emergency response plans.

·        Acquire and maintain current First Aid/CPR training.

·        Manage the day to day operations and performance of staff.
